Behind the scenes of making yoghurt berry ice cream…. oh and News on RTG

The 1st shoot of the year 2012!

Filming has started for Season 4 of Room to Grow and I thought I would start off with a easy shoot. I decided to do a segment on how to make yoghurt berry Ice cream (yum!) with help from my crew (husband Grant, son Josh and Chloe blissfully asleep during the shoot in her bouncer). I love having my family involved when I film. Josh has already picked up on the film lingo, which is quite entertaining – and he loves to act as presenter while we set up.

It was also a good test trying out my new camera – a Canon EOS 7D. I have taken the plunge using a DSLR as the main camera for the new series. It’s a bit of a learning curve but I know the series will look fantastic in Hi Def. I’m also pulling my hair out with the new Final Cut Pro X – getting used to the new editing system – I guess I just need to reprogram ME from the old FCP.

I’m looking forward to starting work with RTG presenters and guests and of course my fantastic crew: Liz, Tom, Stef, & Jen. And I’m always on the lookout for special guests, interesting issue or topics and innovative products. If you have any ideas, please let me know.

Room to Grow’s website is getting a revamp. I’m keeping the blog as is, which was originally designed by the lovely Elizabeth Pethybridge.
Also just an info update: Elizabeth and Aaron had a gorgeous baby girl last year – Emma Scarlet.

Here are some photos from the shoot.

Luv
Elisa

WAHM’s

On the surface we see the Mumpreneurs, Work at Home Mum’s, the WAHM’s as the perfect balance a world of rainbows, laughter and it looks light and fluffy.

Once you look beyond that you see extremely passionate, strong minded business women who will do anything and work any hours from anywhere to create that work/life balance for their kids and for themselves. It’s not for the light hearted because sometimes you don’t have a set wage or set hours but what you do have is love, passion and dedication for your business for you and family to be proud of.

So you still have to look at your business the same as any other business. It has structure, a business model, lead generation, marketing and branding all of things that all business need to grow and be successful. If you do that and you will create the life and business you’ve always dreamed of.
